Situated in St. Merryn, near Padstow, Cornwall. Cowries Retreat is a perfect location for long or short breaks in summer or winter. Our exceptionally comfortable house easily sleeps six in wonderful surroundings. It’s the perfect holiday home!
Our cornish house is called Cowries Retreat because of our love of the Cowrie shell, which can be found on the nearby local beach, Booby’s Bay.

Cowries Retreat is located on the north coast of Cornwall. Just 2 miles to Padstow and 11 miles to Newquay it’s the perfect spot for base-camp whilst exploring everything this beautiful part of England has to offer.

There are seven beautiful and award-winning beaches within easy reach, from the golden sands of Harlyn to the pebbles and shells of Rocky Beach. There’s a beach for everyone.

7 amazing bays for 7 wonderful days
Cowries Retreat has seven amazing cornish beaches within just minutes of the front door. It’s a wonderful collection of glorious sandy beaches and each bay has its own unique character including the half mile wide and beautiful beach at Harlyn (our family favourite), ideal for both families and surfers.
Porthcothan Bay is a north west-facing cove backed by grassy dunes popular for sunbathing and a favourite with families. Treyarnon is next, a wonderful sandy beach, with a fantastic Youth Hostel which serves amazing hot chocolates!
Then it’s Constantine Bay, Booby’s Bay where you’ll find the beautiful Cowrie shells, Mother Ivey’s Bay, Harlyn bay and then Trevone Bay (which is nearest to Padstow).
